Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

When one examines this dragon's name, they often wonder about its origins. Many speculate that something rather un-comical must've happened to this dragon to make him adopt such a name like that, but this is not true. Exactly what isn't funny anymore is actually quite funny, at least to everyone but this dragon.

Many years ago, this dragon stuck fervently to the belief that he was a night glory drake, despite the fact that he was very obviously a day glory drake. While most dragons merely chuckled at him and only made halfhearted efforts to prove to him that he was not a denizen of the night, a group of dark myst pygmies felt insulted. They could not understand how someone like a day glory drake, who are said to have very bright heads (literally), could be capable of such foolishness. They resorted to hiding in trees near his home, armed with buckets of black paint, and dumping them on him whenever he went out. And while this was at first hilarious, indeed, "This Isn't Funny Anymore".
