Black Tea Dragons have small scent glands on the underside of their wing arm that release a pleasant scent. Though many creatures enjoy being in the vicinity of Black Tea dragons, the scent is intended to draw in swarms of butterflies. Though Black Tea dragons are full sized dragons, these insects are the mainstay of their diet.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arbata had her first taste of cheese as a hatchling, being dared by her friends to steal some from a farmer's kitchen while he and his wife were gone. She loved the flavor so much that she kept coming back; much to the alarm of the once happy couple. Soon she found the entire town was very protective of their cheese, and began making the diary product herself with a couple of cows that she "borrowed" and raised. Her amazing new product was a hit with many dragons in the clan, and soon she found herself having to make more and more cheese. Arbata decided she needed help, and called upon Pythia the Magi to create little helpers out of inanimate objects in order to assist in the cheese making. The spell rebounded, however, and hit a fresh batch of cheese, creating the first of many Cheese dragons living in the clan. They are a big help around the den, but Arbata still can't help but wonder what enchanted cheese tastes like.
