This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

The Prodigies are included in the normal vampire hatchlings' activities, but are a league of their own. Their dark plans are spoken in the quietest of whispers and conveyed in nearly invisible twitches. Remaining seemingly inanimate, they do not show any signs of life.

Though there is never any proof, whenever something catastrophic, life changing, and unsolvable happens, dragons will look out of the corner of their eyes to the still gray corpses. No one knows what they could do, or even how it would benefit them, but there are whispers of a grand plan...

Dark Prodigy is the phlegmatic leader of the Prodigies, and the mastermind behind whatever they do. It plans out every action to the second and there has never been a failed mission under its watch.
