Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Epic Gold Rarity was the first really rare dragon in her Cave. She is very proud of her perfect stair-step lineage—she is descended from Gold Epica—and of the fact that she now has many descendants, both in her Cave and outside it, who share this prestigious ancestry. Although she seems rather cold and haughty to those that do not know her well, Rarity actually cares quite a lot for her main partner, I'm Busy Doing The Fishstick, and spends quite a lot of time with him in the dense forests where he and the other Vine Dragons reside. She also likes sitting near the mouth of the cave, looking like a beautiful statue and pretending that the Guardian Dragons are her personal bodyguards.
