Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Dahlia Faux Valentine is perhaps one of the most charming, romantic, and gentle hatchlings of her clan. This comes as no surprise, especially since she is none other but a Valentine dragon, but she seems to possess a certain aura, a certain charm, that makes her so special. She has an innate and intuitive sense of relationships, and she can often be seen at mating ceremonies (where two dragons are mated for life), or consoling with dragon couples. She can even sense the health of a relationship, and gently seeks out those who are falling apart and uses her talents to try to mend them back together. Many dragons thank Dahlia for keeping them together during stormy times, but the true magic of it is that it was they themselves who did it—Dahlia merely helped and encouraged.
