Kyanite Pygmies are a feisty breed, always full of energy. Playfully ebullient, these tiny and elusive dragons like to chase after one another, darting in and out of small alcoves and other such hiding places. They often dig small burrows underneath large trees and nibble on the roots for sustenance. They rely on the towering oaks’ formidable trunks and vast immensity to hide them from predators, something their small size aids in. Kyanites also secrete a weak toxin when threatened, which further protects them from intruders. However, this poison is not strong enough to affect larger creatures, humans included.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Pygmy dragons are the smallest category of dragons, being on the same scale as domesticated animals. They are often found around concentrated populations of dragons, relying on their larger brethren to ward away potential predators and leave scraps. As such, the majority of a pygmy’s diet is scavenged. Due to their tiny size, pygmies do not breed with larger varieties of dragons.

User Description

Y'amin Otaz is a gemshard. One day while he was strolling through the Madder Jungle he found a cake with a tag that said "Eat me" on it. He ate the cake, and ever since he has been the size of a kyanite and everyone seems to think he is a kyanite! It frustrates him to no end that nobody recognises the way he spring-boards off of branches as distinctively gemshard-y, nor how he doesn't dig in the dirt like a lowly kyanite. Not even the other gemshards believe him and usually shove him out when he tries to join in their mosh piles. Sometimes a Rhambutan is the only dragon who gives him any sympathy.
