Greater Spotted Drakes are found in open pine and oak forests. They are among the larger end of the spectrum, but are quite laid back and feed mostly on plant material. They are ambush predators and rely on their dappled markings for camouflage. Females are usually larger than males, though males are brighter in color. In the breeding season the male attracts a mate by making loud, low-pitched bugles, followed by an aerial courtship dance as proof of his quality as a father to her offspring.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

Woodlands is one of the larger of the Spotted Drakes in the flock but possesses a truly sweet and laid-back nature, earning him the nickname of "The Gentle Giant". This calmness led to many of the other dragons viewing him as some kind of confidante, and they would tell him many things from the mundane problems of everyday life to secrets that must never be shared, always finishing with a "But this is a secret."

Unfortunately, those flock members seemed to forget that, above all, Woodlands is a drake and not exactly intelligent. He would listen to whatever it was they wished to get off their chest, then promptly parrot their words to his next visitor. He doesn't mean any harm by this; most of the time, he doesn't understand what they're even saying! He just likes to mimic them, he thinks he's doing good by repeating their words.

This resulted in quite a lot of embarrassment for some, and now the other dragons are much more careful of what they say around any of the drakes.
