Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Urbanarum is Monokerata's creation, after a spell to make a piece of fireproof paper went wrong. The paper's still fireproof, but it had taken the form of a dragon and indeed, behaved like a dragon. Urbanarum assigned himself a name and a gender, and Monokerata quickly grew attached to his creation, pronouncing him an assistant after the little origami dragon asked. Urbanarum will often aids Monokerata with spells and runs errands on a regular basis.

It was revealed before long that Urbanarum even had feelings like a normal dragon and yearned for a hatchling to care for. Monokerata was unsure at first, but after many purposely failed spells and burnt paper, a hatchling was created. Urbanarum was thrilled and took—still takes—great, mostly unnecessary care of his child, Diurna.

Even with Monokerata reaching advanced age and his health now failing him, he is rarely seen without his tiny, happy accident.
