Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Linda is a Black Stripe dragon. She is from a long line of pure White Stripes. These Stripes were suspicious that Linda's egg was black and they cast out the egg. Picked up from a pile of abandoned eggs, Linda grew up with the White Stripe Marian and joined the Egg Watch to make sure that no eggs like hers were cast away. She was especially furious at what she considers the death of Vampirica. Sagbeth bit into a clan egg while Linda was off-duty. Extremely angry, Linda fired up the Egg Watch and drove Sagbeth and his spawn, the egg, away. They now live far off in clan territory with a group of other dragons like them that have been abandoned. Linda is extremely hostile to the Vampire Dragons, and makes sure they never stay at the cave for long. Linda has a sharp tongue, and whenever a dragon shows dominance over shy Marian, Linda comes to her rescue and forces them back. Loyal to the clan eggs and to Marian, Linda is a powerful force in the clan.
