Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sapphire Skies' great love in life is soaring through the sky he is named for and he spends just about all of his time doing so except for when he needs to give his wings a rest. Besides the joy he gets from flight, the reason he practically lives in the sky is that his limbs are all wings and anywhere but the sky feels too awkward for him because of this and it makes him feel silly. Currently he is mateless. He had been charmed by the purple dragoness, Dazzling Jewel, and they did have a hatchling together which he has never seen but his need for life in continuous flight made things awfully difficult to work out between him and Dazzling Jewel since this way he hardly was able to spend time with her. His distant and independent nature makes him perfectly content without a mate but maybe one day he will run into a female skywing that will catch his eye and his heart.
