Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A foul-tempered earth dragon, Dust Eater was named after getting in too many fights with his fellow hatchlings, and later with the red dragon Minalrito.  Quite literally, he was made to eat dust after losing a mock-battle with the red and having his snout crushed into the floor of the caves.  Lorraine, his human keeper, laughed, mocking him for his defeat in the grand tradition, but resolved privately to find someone who wanted a dragon for the Fights to sell him to.  He is not too much trouble in her caves, but she has no use for a dragon born with such a temper.

Dust Eater holds a great resentment towards Lorraine, believing that she disliked him even as an egg, and often gets in fights with Minalrito, whom he considers to be his eternal nemesis.  Irritable and sour, the only dragon Dust Eater does not get into fights with is the vine dragon Diggory--Once was enough for both of them.
