Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It loves watching the reflection of stars in the water.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Something tells people this dragon was meant to be a female. Maybe it's his long, fluttering eyelashes. Maybe it's his ability to summon cute little birds forth when he sings. Or maybe, just maybe, it's his habit of painting his claws and moon markings a charming shade of pink.

Of course, some might say the biggest giveaway is in his name, but everyone else knows that's ridiculous.
