Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Color Daze, a female Sunsong Amphipteres dragon, was different than most of her species. She didn't like her scales that "shine brilliant like gold". She didn't want to be an "unusual breed". She didn't want to be special. All the attention she got, she never liked. Everyone admired her, but although she was flattered, she never EVER wanted to be in the spotlight. Only one other dragon realized that, and respected it. That dragon was Pink Horizon, a black tea dragon. They became best friends. Pink Horizon was the lead guard for the cave, so whenever he went on patrol, Color Daze would go with him. She liked this because she got to get away from all the constant attention.  One day, as she was strolling along the side of a mountain, a group of dark red and green dragons surrounded her. She tried to fly away, but the cruel dragons pinned her down, ripping her left wing. Laughing, the red and green dragons clawed at her. Pink Horizon saw the trouble she was in and came to her rescue.
