Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

The dragon lies perched on a high-up rock, as if scanning the shoreline with his beady copper eyes. His sea-blue body is adorned with bright-blue markings, which seem to have no pattern, but easily match the color of waves. While he lacks upper arms, he makes up for it with superior speed and stealth, being able to snatch up sea life with little to no trouble, blending in with the shifting waters. An arrow-shaped tail emerges from in between two thin, horse-like legs, growing thinner and wider as it reaches the end. Rather than having a mouth full of sharp teeth, this dragon instead sports a beak-like mouth. A small dorsal fin sprouts from the back of his avian head. He seems more shy than the other dragons, as if he only wants to keep his head down and blend in. Naps are a frequent occurrence for him, and he prefers the quietude of his nest rather than the loud mess of a pack. In the rare moments he is awake, it isn't rare to find him looking for a new nest, as he enjoys moving.
