Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rajiv is a bit of a downer, for a Christmas dragon. He doesn't seem to have very many friends; other dragons stay away from him and his strange appearance. His strange holly wings don't allow him to fly very well, and his bright, striped body keeps him from hunting. Usually, he stays by himself, but sometimes he speaks to the only other Christmas dragon in the cave, a hatchling, who understands his pain.

Sadly, his greatest torment is love. He has a deep love for Evol, the adult Valentine dragon who graces the scroll with her presence. However, Evol openly spurns his affections, making fun of his strange appearance. Rajiv has all but despaired of her ever loving him in return.
