Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Water behaves strangely around it, though the hatchling doesn’t seem to notice.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Plain Scales is a very snobby and proud dragon, which results in her often getting into squabbles with Astropunk over just about anything. It's usually about how Astropunk is doing nothing but "ruining the minds" of young dragons who could grow up to be great.

Some dragons in the Galactic Nest believe Plain Scales tries to mold hatchlings into some perfect adult because she was rejected for how she turned out.
