This breed of dragon results from eggs or hatchlings that have been neglected. They are usually rebellious, not obeying their masters, sometimes even attacking them. However, their neglect as a hatchling leaves them crippled, and they are weak compared to other breeds, causing them to stay with their masters for protection.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Lady Dodger was born a coastal waverunner, the oddball of a family of frills and metals. Rejected by her mother, she was passed from caretaker to caretaker until she reached the House of Thaleron. Feeling unloved and uncared for, she hatched neglected, only to find the head of the House of Thaleron, Achire, standing over her with a sword. Although Achire claims that this was an accident and that she was only attempting to break her egg's shell, Lady Dodger has never forgiven her. Lady Dodger refused to reveal her gender until she was almost an adult, and considers her masculine name, Dodger, to be a further sign of her neglect.
