Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its eyes glow brightly at night, and it enjoys attacking insects and small animals.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Zeroneris has a bit of an interesting story. One day, as per usual, the owner of the cavern that took up several new hatchlings was naming her new brood. In the naming however, she didn't notice that one of the hatchlings had an interesting lineage, on that could only be carried so long as a name was kept. Shocked that she had made such an error, the owner hoped to cover it up by freezing the little black hatchling and coming up with the excuse that that was her goal from the beginning, despite her cave still lacking a single black male.

Oh well, there's always to hoping the parents don't find out.
