Sunbeam Drakes are the diurnal counterparts to Moonglow Drakes, their eggs having been laid during the daylight hours. They are around the size of a small dog, and while docile, can be flighty and easily startled. Most can be found high in treetops enjoying the bright sunlight, tucking themselves away at the first sign of a storm or impending nightfall. Sunbeam Drakes enjoy flying in the light of the sun, and their treetop dances are beautiful, dazzling, and serene.
Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.
User Description
The egg of Gandhi Nuria was found by the girl Ember, shining with both the colors of dusk and dawn. Ember took it to her home on the tallest mountain of Elgar, and cared for the egg. Gandhi hatched into a beautiful dragon, and was very proud of his magnificent designs. He became very vain, and would prance around showing off his wings, to which the other dragons would nod, give him a compliment, and then generally ignore him. Gandhi was depressed about the lack of attention he received on the mountain, and so he flew down to the lake of Elgar, were Ember's friend Flight lived, and displayed his brilliant colors there. Soon, even the patient dragons raised by Flight grew tired of his constant vanity, so Gandhi became the second traveler of the dragons raised by Ember, and he flies to different dragon settlements each year showing off his radiance. Despite his vanity, Gandhi still holds Ember in a special place in his heart, and he comes home to visit her and hear her praises annually.
