Candelabra Dragons are a spectacular sight against the dark midnight sky. The glowing orbs that decorate their golden wings can be seen from far away and give them the unparalleled brilliance they are recognizable for. Proudly earnest, Candelabra Dragons will often go to extreme lengths to protect those close to them, even giving their lives to rescue a loved one from peril. However, they do not take lightly the breaking of a promise, and have been known to unleash a furious wrath when betrayed.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Shokudai likes to confuse fireflies by blinking his wing lights in the same patterns he's seen from the bugs. Usually he does this while he's out looking for food, but occasionally he will remain unmoving and wait to see how many insects he is able to catch the attention of. This hobby once resulted in him returning to the caves with his wings almost entirely covered in moths, to his discomfort and the delight of the hatchlings in the family who like eating moths.
