Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Pronthus traded aging, change and the ability to breed for immortality. He is not sure he made the right choice. People younger than him now treat him as a child. Pronthus can now not live in the same cave for more than 2 years. He is ever searching for one like him to love. Alas, he is forever young, forever living. Pronthus is a sad lonely dragon who just needs a friend.
