Electric Dragons wield electricity with great prowess. Bright sparks race across these dragons’ bodies in a dazzling dance of light, complemented by the blindingly radiant sparks on their tails. Using their bellies and manes as stores for this electrical energy, Electric Dragons wield crackling magic, stunning and electrocuting their prey with a whip of their tail. During mating season it is typically those with the most brilliant sparks—an indicator of strength and hunting ability—that are drawn to each other.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Cloud Friction is born from a female electric dragon and a male daydream dragon. Many dragons, especially his rival Navy Strike, make fun of him because his father is a daydream. The only ones to be okay with him besides his parents are his half-brother Cotton Candy Days (a daydream hatchling) and Proud Flight. Despite his closeness with Flight, Friction doesn't necessarily like Proud Set, Flight's adopted sunset hatchling. The hatchling seemed to always want to get close to Days, and that makes Friction more mad than if Days had suddenly become a fan of Navy Strike.
