Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Silvermoon was a normal egg just like the rest until she was bitten by Dragonblood and was turned into a Vampire. She was always quiet and angry, for when she was a mature hatchling she was abandoned (likely because she was female). Later some strange smelling human picked her up off the pile of eggs and put her in a cave with all kinds of dragons. When she was in the cave she kept her distance from the rest of the dragons and bit and snapped if any came close, for she did not want to be put back in the pile with all the smelly eggs. As she grew a few dragons were able to come close and a Black dragon named Shade, claimed they wouldn't take her away and Silvermoon began to interact a little. When she became an adult she became more of a leader among the others. However, she did use intimidation to gain respect, often growling at small hatchlings id they came close. However, she has always secretly wanted to bite one of her own. Only Shade (her best friend) knows it.
