Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Prowl is an unusual dragon. He hunts, he is graceful, he can kill prey silently by pouncing, diving or with a whispered spell, but get closer and one will quickly notice that he was born without eyes. Blindness doesn't impair him in the least. Unfamiliar landscapes may take longer for him to navigate, yet he finds his way just fine by smell, touch and hearing--and he is excellent at judging distance by ear. Prowl loves to fly, and he can tell whether land is flat, mountainous, forested or hilly by how the wind blows around the terrain below. He can estimate the size of a cave by tapping his claws and listening to how the sound echoes. Prowl's favorite past time is sleeping all day in caves and hunting at night--and yes, he can tell the difference between night and day. His ONLY fear is bees, because as a hatchling he stepped in a beehive and got stung many times, which made him sick for awhile. If he hears bees or smells honey, he RUNS away!
