Striped Dragons come in a dazzling array of colors complemented by an intricate pattern of stripes. These bright colors and patterns help attract their favorite food, insects. Because their prey is so tiny, striped dragons must spend a large portion of their day eating. The color of the offspring is usually determined by the dragon’s mate.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Lapis Lazulius spends most of his time swooping over the water like a swallow, eating mosquitoes, gnats, and other water-based bugs. His blue hide striped with gold, like the sunbeams on the water, gives him excellent camouflage in this environment, and sometimes even other dragons find him hard to spot (if they're only using their visual senses, that is). He is a swift and adept flyer, able to turn on a dime and swoop closely over the water, and because of him, many local ponds have far fewer biting insects than would otherwise be the case. He is a lively, merry dragon with a sparkling wit—he often holds telepathic conversations with humans or dragons sitting on the bank of one or another of his ponds or lakes, managing to sustain a lively dialogue while performing the most amazing aerial acrobatics.
