Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Irlyrish made a pact with Ophisira and the other Anagallis dragons, swearing to protect them if ever there are any hunters. She's well aware of Ophisira's paranoia toward humans and sympathizes her reasons. She also swore that she'd bring more Magi dragons in the world to protect the Anagallis dragons and other creatures that are targeted to extinction. She's not as cynical about humans as Ophisira is, and although she knows that some humans are actually good, she doesn't argue and instead continues to keep her promise to protect Anagallis dragons from harm.

Irlyrish often worries about when she'll get to the next spring, even after just a month of visiting a previous one. Even when she uses her magic wisely, this particular Magi dragon worries almost constantly. It often takes another Magi dragon to reassure her that she'll be fine and that dragons her kind can survive for several months before reaching another spring.
