This is a baby chick, not a dragon. So what was it doing in the dragons’ cave?

It is not known why, but despite being well past the age a chicken typically matures at, Vendosmeri has not grown any feathers and is no larger than a hatchling. While this would usually be cause enough for constant mocking, this tiny chicken possesses a cold, calculating mind. The last dragon to mock her was found several days later in chains on the black market, and she has since been left in peace.

This chicken does not mind her strange predicament; in fact, she appreciates it, for she finds that it serves the goal that she pursues with a single-minded ferocity:

Creating a flying machine. The arthritic claws, clumsy body, and useless wings of an older chicken would have been a cumbersome impediment to her goal, and her small, agile body serves her well. Her test flights of a claw-steered glider of her own invention have gone very well, and once she gets her claws on a suitable energy source, flight will be hers.
