Spitfires are a desert breed of dragon. Their dull brown bodies contrast with their brilliant turquoise markings, and they only blaze brighter when these dragons fight. Spitfires are notorious for their territorial natures, and the wing-edges of most are ripped and tattered before their first year is out. Spitfires are also noteworthy for their brilliant blue fire, which is used not for hunting or fighting, but rather for making glass caves from the sand, in which the dragons can soak up the sun.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sandshadow, or Sand's Shadow, is a very noble and brave dragon. Her outstanding blue fire used to be used for entering awesome dragon circus shows. In the clan's 5th anniversary circus, Sandshadow won the "Most Colorful Fire" award. However, all of her traces in her famous life have disappeared. Instead of the circus, Sandshadow became a warrior that would fight for her clan's territory and food. She became rather temperamental in the past few years, but she keeps her distance from another dragon's fury. Sandshadow liked dull colors, but she doesn't like them too dark or too bright. She is known also for tackling down male Spitfires, as she is very strong and practices her abillities every day. In Sandshadow's past life, she trained to be a Gadnin, a clan's lead hunter of a certain group. She never made it as Gadnin, but the class warrior is just as precious to her.
