Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

As the daughter of the famous Commondant Lassard, Lazahra was always both seen and treated as a queen. With a father as noble and brave as Lassard, no one could argue otherwise. Even her own mother held her above her siblings. Her bouts of violent destruction as her powers developed were mostly ignored as a result. Instead of learning to focus them in a way that would help rather than hurt, she saw them as a way to rebel against her clanmates' constant flattery due to her unusual lineage.

She realized she would much rather be treated like a demon than an angel; at least if she was feared, she would be left alone. As soon as she had grown strong enough she lay waste to her clan and took off into the wilderness, cackling wildly as she looked back upon the carnage. Her former clanmates now speak her name in dismay, wondering how such a promising young dragon could have grown to be the monster that now threatens their very way of life, never realizing that her undoing is their own fault.
