White Dragons are pacifists and specialize in extremely strong healing magic. The only limit of this magic is that it can’t bring back the dead. They only eat plants and never kill living things.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Diamond Xanadu is a dragon of great purpose. Since he was a wee hatchling, he knew that there would come a time when his strengths would be a defining part of the Weyr's survival, and has been focused towards that end. He is unsure as to what will be required of him, but is determined to be of use when that time comes. This creates an aura of distance and aloofness about him which is far from the truth of his heart. His Weyr-mates understand this, though, and he has been allowed the freedom to follow his studies wherever they take him.
