Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Prentice, despite his beautiful scales and bright coloring, is actually quite humorless. Strict as he is, he will not stand for his daughter, Hilda, to get a toe out of line. Prentice truly wants nothing but the best for Hilda, but goes about it in entirely the wrong way. Her rebellious behavior often is the source of his anger and frustration, and he sometimes acts as if he is embarrassed or ashamed of her. It is not very well understood how he managed to get his mate, Simone, to fall in love with him, or anyone for that matter. However, many don't listen to his side of the story. When he was a hatchling, Prentice was often bullied around by his peers, which went entirely unnoticed by the adult dragons of the clan. Though his bullies have since grown and changed their ways, and all is water under the bridge, Prentice still suffers from insecurity due to the incessant taunting he received as a youngster. Since this, he has always wanted his daughter to be more respected than he was.
