When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Sunsplashed lives with his life mate Moonsplashed in the Blue Lake, sharing territory with the Shallow Water Dragon pair but living out in deeper waters. The Blue Lake lies outside the dragon cave. Sunsplashed himself is a very quiet and solitary dragon with a huge level of tolerance and patience. He reared Moonsplashed from when she was just an egg and feels like not only her mate but also her guardian. They hunt together for tuna fish and salmon found in the lake, and sometimes take swimming trips together round the lake or down the river that goes from the lake to the sea. Sunsplashed unusually loves singing for a male dragon and if you stand on the edge of Blue Lake you can often hear his whale-like song echoing from the depths.
