When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

From a war-torn tribe of water dragons that ruled a lake, Aka has managed to escape to the ocean in search of a dragon warrior by the name of Ao. Aka was a trained, skilled fighter in her tribe, and she vowed that she would swim to the end of the world to find and exact vengeance upon the warrior that had killed her family before her eyes. Many dragons believe that their tale is being orchestrated by demons, one that filled the warrior Ao with hate and the desire to kill, and one that possessed Aka to feed off of her need for vengeance. Aka doesn't care about or mind the rumors. While she knows that no 'demons' exist to take control of her or feed off of her, she would much rather focus on finding and ending Ao first, then going back to clean up these hellish rumors.
