Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s brightly colored and chirps quite often.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Iraj is one of the many daughters that have been born of the clan's most popular Silver dragon and his Pink mate.  She is fairly shy, and gets along best with the other gentle sorts of dragons.  Right now, male hatchlings frighten her a little, with their rough play and their tendency to go around killing small animals.  She much prefers to nibble on fruit with the Mint dragons, and to lay in the sun and preen herself with her mother.
