Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Carrot in Denial used to be a normal dragon of the Firewind clan, faithfully serving his leader in battle and in times of peace. Although he wasn't the best warrior, no one could doubt his dedication. Somehow, on April 1st of a certain year, all of that came unhinged. He flew out of the cave at 3 A.M. screaming, "WE'RE CARROTS! WE'RE ALL CARROTS!"

At first, the Firewind thought that this was just a really bad prank, but as he continued to scream himself hoarse, his clanmates began to worry. One, two and then twelve hours passed, and he lost the strength to telepathically communicate at that volume, but he still thought the words over and over. When it did not fade by April 2nd, they took him to the white dragon clan's cave in hopes of healing him.
