Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Irmeth is a bit of an embarrassment to all other Nocturne dragons, so much so that most try to distance themselves from him as much as possible and refuse to join on any of his night hunts. He grew up and hunted on his own, living near a mausoleum (which is also the source now of other Nocturnes' ire). The entombed individual, whoever they may be, was rich enough to have statues of himself, as well as something that gave a randomly selected but brief phrase from the deceased when someone came close. Sadly, it has since stopped working and not spoken for many years, but Irmeth is insistent that the "cursed being" inside is now too weak to communicate. As such, he leaves a small portion of his catches for the statues. The maintenance crew working at the mausoleum dispose of the dead meat early every morning, providing more fuel for Irmeth's delusions. Perhaps one day he will discover his mistake, but until then, Irmeth shall unknowingly continue to give gifts to the dead.
