Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nouveau Sourire, known simply as Nou, is a depressive dragon. His parents never got along because of their views on many things, especially the concept of Christmas. Because of the endless arguments and unnecessary comments exchanged by the two, Nire's family was torn apart. Sometimes he stays with his mother, but most of the time he's firth his father, a dragon the same breed as him. Nire doesn't really like his mother either. She's not energetic and gleeful, but rather monotonous and uncaring. He only visits her in hopes that he himself can transform her, and reunite his family. Although Nire is moody and pessimistic, this does not affect his job as a Christmas dragon.
