Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It glows with some form of arcane energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

One day as Siliskor wandered around the mountains of her homeland she almost stumbled over a freshly hatched young Magi. The hatchling was very special insofar as she produced a specific noise over and over again 'XHErK', 'XHErK'. Although dragons usually don't speak Siliskor took this as an attempt at communication and she travelled wide and far until she heard about a dragon keeper named Herk living with her clan near the Muddletop Moors.

After a long and dangerous journey Siliskor finally reached Herk's clan and brought the little hatchling to her destined home.

Shortly after arriving XHErK was hit with a misfired freezing spell by Neville while she explored the halls of Delirium's academy. But XHErK doesn't mind, she's just too happy roaming around in her new home with the other hatchlings or playing pranks on the adult Magis, always secure that she will never be punished too harshly for her misdeeds as she holds a special place in the human caretaker's heart.
