Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Alchemy is a name that proves his magical abilities, though still in training. He names himself Goldynsson, to honour for the sire he never knew. Being the First-Hatched, his clutch mates turned naturally to him for leadership. He made the cave they all hatched in a respectable weyr, and has been able to keep control of things. The only other male, Leaf, was his best friend as hatchlings, but since adulthood, they have grown apart. Out of the females, he is closest to Inastaria, who shares his over-protective feelings for the group. But he is not ready for mating, much to the annoyance of Vishahara.

Though young, he is a patient leader, kind and respected. His compassion lead him to save Noel and to take in the three abandoned eggs Amphipterie found. But he is also too naive and honest, and could use a little more diplomacy. The only thing that he truly dislikes is being called Al. He prefers Chem, but finds it more respectable to be called Alchemy.
