Balloon Dragons are so named because they are filled with a gas that makes them almost lighter than air, similar to balloons. However, they are not prone to bursting, as they are covered in tough skin and can deflate themselves if necessary. In addition, they generally are slow moving. They use their gas bladders to float to the tops of trees, where food is more abundant. They can shift their weight from their backs to their fronts, allowing them to reach leaves and fruit.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

One day Shiroshema was roaming with his little sister Kyomai and they spotted a strange floating egg. Kyo lunged after it trying to catch it but it was very elusive to the little hatch-ling. "I have never seen an egg fly before it had wings!" she squealed. Kyo pawed at it and laughed. "Can we keep it," she asked her brother.

Shiro looked around for a family or clan and saw nothing. "Kyomai, that is not a play thing. It is a baby dragon like you. It will need lots of care and love and you will be the protector." Kyo ran around in circles around it. "Oh! I would make a wonderful big sister! Please can we take it, it is all alone!"

Shiro caught the egg in his claw and saw it was indeed alone and needed care. In the distance he then saw two large dragons flying...or more so floating away. Its parents had left it here. Shiro and Kyo took the egg home and spent many a day chasing it as it floated away.

Later, that egg became Drake Pufi. And he hasn't changed a bit.
