Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sejuani spent the earliest years of her life alone; both of her parents were captured by mages who sought the power of the legendary dragons for their rituals of summoning. Sejuani, too young to be of use to the selfish humans, was left behind. As she watched her parents struggle against seemingly unbreakable magic binds, Sejuani's anger and sorrow kindled within her an incredible will to survive.

Loneliness, blinding blizzards, and unbearable hunger became motivation to her. She refused to succumb to the unforgiving conditions of the mountain. When prey became scarce in the harsh winter months, the predators that saw her as a potential meal learned all too quickly that they would not walk away without wounds.

A freak drought once brought a Blue-Banded dragoness to her nest at the peak of the mountain. She listened to the visitor's tale of betrayal and saw in her a desire for vengeance. Reminded of her own anger, Sejuani taught her how to use that fury to wield the power of ice.
