Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Arama was born at the very end of sunset, almost in full darkness. Her blood-red wings are filled with scars and they are indeed torn up from the many fights she's gone through in her life, but it is not that from which she gains her name "Spearholder".

That name comes from the way she hunts—she stays still, almost as if immobilized, above her prey until the darkness swallows her dusky form, and then, swiftly as the wind, she falls down on the animal holding her straightened claws in front of her like an arsenal of spears.

Unlike most dragons, she doesn't mind her claws growing too long and does not dull them on hard materials like stones and trees, but she lets them grow until they start twisting or hurting from malformation. They are her main weapons in hunt, and she is indeed proud of them.
