Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Surrounded by tenebrous darkness, this young dragon's chartreuse eyes linger on the faint glimmer of light from above. Imprisoned since hatching, she has never seen the shining of the sun's rays. Her sapphire scales tug hopelessly at the thick steel chains that immobilize her in the underground prison. Once a day, the silhouette of a human flutters in and obstructs the light, speaking in a soft, calming voice. The human sets chunks of venison between her jaws and shark-like teeth, petting her snout with hands that feel pleasant but smell of brutality and deception. Comatose can almost feel the grim smirk as they speak to her, her name a number to them. The air tainted with lies presses against her scales as she is told that she is here for her own protection. The human told her before that they were disappointed in her. The cold, harsh voice echoes in her mind, telling her she was too nice for her own good.

With the things she wishes upon the human, Comatose has begun to doubt that.
