Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The name "Alyando" means "blessed," but no name could be farther from fitting this unfortunate dragon. Alyando Uruloki was, in his former life, a green stripe dragon. Completely loyal to Elorendil, he gave his life defending her from an attack from a rogue black dragon. He fought bravely and gave Elorendil the chance to escape, but he was no match for the cunning and strength of the black dragon. The black dragon left him bleeding and torn upon the banks of a stream. Elorendil exerted all of her powers to heal him, but to no avail. When healing failed her, she tried to bring him back to life, but fate caused her to stumble in the spell, bringing him back as a terrible shadow of the dragon that once was, as a Zombie.

Alyando wanders alone through the night, mourning the life that he once had and filled with anger and grief at being trapped in living death for all of eternity. No living dragon can stand to be in his presence and Elorendil alone seeks his company.
