Black Tea Dragons have small scent glands on the underside of their wing arm that release a pleasant scent. Though many creatures enjoy being in the vicinity of Black Tea dragons, the scent is intended to draw in swarms of butterflies. Though Black Tea dragons are full sized dragons, these insects are the mainstay of their diet.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hypnos is known as a sly troublemaker among the Posluga (servants to the dragons of the High Family, who seek to control all of the Mountains of Elgar). He possesses the ability to trance those he makes eye contact with into a light sleep. This ability is used to cause countless amounts of harm to others, especially those who do not belong to the Posluga or High Family. Hypnos was discovered as an egg by Nyx of the High Family, and he can always be seen with his brother, Thanatos (representation of Death). He accompanied Chaos (leader of the High Family) to the home of the Nakusa (another clan of dragons which hold no affection for anyone else in Elgar, though most were raised by Ember Nuria). This meeting later ensured the support of the Nakusas in the battle for Elgar that would later be known as the "War of the New Year". Hypnos is the representation of Sleep in the Posluga.
