Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

This dragon lives alongside a primitive human settlement, and as such, he is frequently a witness to the atrocities they commit upon one another. Often arriving too late to stop some poor sacrifice from being burned alive, he shows his remorse through song, settling down on the still-smoking pyre and filling the air with a lament for the dead, as beautiful as it is eerie. What the mourning dragon does not realize, however, is that the locals have come to believe him a messenger of their gods, seeing as he always appears after sacrifices are offered, and accordingly they've taken to offering up extra sacrifices in praise of him. Unaware of this horrible ignorance, he simply continues to do the best he can to prevent evil, snatching would-be victims off the pyre whenever he comes across a sacrifice just in the process of beginning and setting them free in the woods.
