Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. As soon as it hatched it headed to the sea.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Regeant is remarkably mature for its age and understands its limits better than most hatchlings. Though it can fly, it is weak and panics when it gets too far from the cave without an adult to escort it. It loves to swim in small bodies of water and look for tiny fish to fill its tummy for a while. Regeant is never hasty or rash; it must think through almost anything it does before it acts.
