Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Despite her name, Arcane Dreamlight is the most incompetent mage in Kad's clan. Her parents, part of the aristocratic core of the far-flung Thuwed family, had high expectations for her since her birth. Thinking she would inherit their talents without work, as they had inherited theirs, they coddled her and refused to put her into classes. They also refused to hire her a tutor from a less prestigious family since they believed one such would teach her "low" habits. This backfired; Arcane's talents, if any, are notably not arcane. She loves to stare off into space, sleep, and peer blearily at visitors before falling asleep again. Her very inability to do anything useful makes her adorable to some of the clan's members, particularly dragons of less eminent families looking to improve their social status. In forming competition teams or strategy conventions, however, she is nowhere near loved. To her, arcane light can only remain a dream.
