This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

A solemn hatchling, MorphogeneticSorrow is often said to project a beautiful yet sad song whenever someone is close by.

He never knew of his original life before being transformed into a Vampire, as he was still only an egg at the time. He often wishes to play with the other hatchlings within the cave territory, but most of them shun him or run away from him. He often finds a way to keep himself entertained, whether it be through puzzle-solving or possibly going to a play with one of the older dragons in the cave.

He doesn't really know why the other hatchlings don't like him, and he would often blame it on himself for being a Vampire. Sadly, being a Vampire is all he knew in his life. Most of the time, he is seen lying by himself near the edge of his favorite pond during the night, staring at the stars.
