Shallow Water Dragons are found in tropical regions where the water is warm. They use their magic to hunt, using bubbles to capture small fish and animals. Their large, webbed feet make them excellent swimmers and they are able to move at very high speeds. Due to their bright color, these dragons are easily spotted in the lagoons where they live.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Voiman Vartijat is a bit of a tomboy. Her father keeps telling her she is pretty, and her half-brother keeps telling her she is ugly, but she couldn't care less. The only thing she is a bit vain about is the fact that she is a 7th generation Thuwed, but she would never admit that it means anything to her. She is far too busy swimming and diving, pulling off more and more daring feats and socialising with all the wrong kinds of dragons (according to her father) to have time to talk about feelings. She doesn't just live for having fun though; she is very strong and her favourite kind of daring deed is coming to the rescue of others, so weaker dragons often call her when they need help.
